  Concerns for Children's Education

Historically, Catholicism has been of significant contribution to Taiwan's education. Schools operated by the Catholic Church have educated many young folks. In the face of social chaos in Taiwan, many believe that education is the foundation to the solution. This is particularly so as the teenager problems continue to deteriorate;

strengthening children's comprehensive personality, character development has become imperative.

In view of the existing TV channels, channels specially designed for children are mostly cartoon orientation except for Children's Encyclopedia. Although cartoons are of recreational value and minor education worth, some programmes, however, are inclined to violence and extreme thinking. Among the cable TV programmes, Japanese cartoons tend to be of such nature. This is evident that educational programmes for children are rather wanting overall; this particular area is where Kuangchi's strength lies. The overall social and broadcasting environment directs the way for the development of Kuangchi Cultural, Educational Channel as well as reveals Kuangchi's unique role.

The founding of Kuangchi Channel, other than putting the ideal of serving the society in practice, offers Kuangchi's existing viewers with comprehensive programming.
